Today was to be the install of our new poppy door. It was all going so well until…ummm…I decided to change the location of the new door system. It is completely against my grain to do any type of major adhoc redesign but the situation warranted a pause to consider this what-if…
Our front entry had two door systems. An exterior one and an interior one set inside about 4 feet. When the old exterior unit was removed, it was beautiful to see how the interior door system looked set in 4 feet from where the old exterior door had been. We have a beautiful archway that just frames the whole space. What this meant was if we relocated my new poppy door to the interior door area, we would now have a large covered porch-like transition into the house. This essentially extends our exterior entry from about 3 feet to 7+.
Soooo, after much discussion we decided to put the old door back so that Wayne could work on the redefinition of the space. It means he now needs to turn a once interior space to an exterior space, albeit covered and sheltered from weather.
While you’re at it Wayne can you just relocate the garage to the front of the house ???
