Curves, Carvings and More Tile

The tile is all down.  Today Lloyd and Mark will grout.  Most of the appliances should arrive today- haven’t heard from Yale to confirm.

Over the weekend Tom continued getting the cabinets assembled and I began the work of sanding and preparing my new entry door.  The curves and carvings are beautiful but sanding each of the intricate designs takes time, patience and a zenful mind.  The result is now a smooth as glass mahogany door ready for stain and poly.  Tom calls me Geppetto’s Helper.  My role- pretty much Geppetto’s sous-chef!

And on another note, Tom and I received the most beautiful orchid from Hausermann’s in Villa Park (just outside of Chicago).  There was no card attached so I have no idea who sent it.  The potted orchid had arrived via Fed Ex and was all wrapped up in the March 17th edition of the Chicago Tribune so naturally I thought it would be from a friend in Chicago.  (BTW, Check out her community gardening project).  Turns out it wasn’t but I have my suspicions that the sender is very closeby…I will solve this mystery today.  Thank you to my mystery person out there.  You obviously know my love of flowers and Chicago.
