So we’ve started the process of combining the custom Semihandmade bamboo drawer fronts and doors with the IKEA boxes. I must say the results so far are stunning. The wood grain on the fronts are matched across cabinets to bring an element of pure simplicity and sleekness.
Tom is one smart, meticulous guy. Leonardo comes to mind when I think about all his talents and skills (although when climbing Kilimanjaro he was given the name of St. Thomas…no, not because he had to put up with me….well…um…). Anyway, I love watching him dissect a problem. In our “book” success really is all about design, process and organization…not to mention a phenomenal team (more about that later). I guess we’re two of a kind that way, thankfully.
Slowly, a cabinet carcass takes shape, then the drawers, then the unwrapping of each bamboo piece, the marriage of all the bits to create a lovely work of art. But you’ll have to wait to see the finished product…stay tuned.
