The steel beam is in and the seamless integration of 3 rooms is taking shape. The idea to actually tuck the beam up into the ceiling joists was encouraged by our structural engineer Jamie Boulay. He was a delight to work with and when a second supporting structure was discovered after demolition(suspected during original design) he quickly drew up necessary changes. This approach allows for our ceilings to flow from room to room without obstruction or the need for vertical posts. Beautiful!
